YOUR HOME FOR HOOPS CONCEPT
Idea / Concept
Basketball is at its core is a collective of people, whether you’re a keen or novice player, you follow a certain team or players, if you’re 2K gamer, basketball shoe fanatic, young or old, it’s basketball and the love of the game that connects them all. The insight to this idea is we all aspire to three things – fun, self-expression and recognition. So why not bring that love under one roof?
The idea was to setup a Your Home for Hoops House in Melbourne with each room dedicated to each of the basketball leagues that ESPN broadcasts. We’d invite past-NBA, current NBL, and WNBL players to make appearances, top basketball social influencers and 2K23 gamers/Twitch streamers to be a part of the experience. We’ll also have an on-site artist to create one-of-a-kind artworks on white basketballs or shoes.
During the period we’d have the chance to also shoot an episode The Jump (ESPN’s Basketball Show) in the YHFH House – bringing a new take on the show and have the potential to have a live audience, invite guests or interview some of the players that appear at the YHFH House.
To tie back into the Your Home For Hoops 2021 campaign and as a bit of a center-piece of the House, bringing the rings in the visuals to life. Using 3D printing and acrylic diamonds to recreate the rings used in the campaign and get them set in a display cabinet that looks the part too.
