SALESFORCE

WA MINING PROGRAM

Art direction / Design / Layout

SalesForce came to us with a brief outlining an idea they had wanting a way to become partners with companies in the WA mining sector, with their offering of CRM services. My task was to develop a series of initial concepts with the directions and taglines I was given and flesh them out, along with setting up the presentation boards. It was then settled on Tomorrow Together as the tagline and it was then a task of how does this look?

The main inspiration came from the way when you look at an open-cut mine from the air, you see the concentric rings of the roads leading in and out.

As part of the sell-in process, I said we should design a book with the manifesto that has been written as a point of difference – beyond just handing over a PDF or a Powerpoint. The book was designed with imagery from various WA mining sectors to match the manifesto copy, and to bring home what SalesForces’ expertise could bring not only to the WA mining industry but to the communities around them too.

Also, I designed some mock adverts that spoke of existing SalesForce mining partners that could be placed across different media that talk SalesForces’ potential or existing partners in the mining industry - from blogs/websites to magazines.

We explored ways in which SalesForce could help in the mining communities from sponsoring scoreboards at local sports grounds, to looking at ways to clean up old mine sites that had been abandoned. We even proposed an event to be held in Perth to invite companies along to, and so SalesForce didn’t just look like a machine but a mate. What better way to show you’re a mate by a round at the bar. So we concepted a one-off beer called “Diggers Ale” to be served at the event that had influences of the fluro hi-viz jackets miners wear to tie the theme together.
